This year, MTV’s 2022 Video Music Awards will return to New Jersey at the Prudential Center in downtown Newark.
Nicki and Harlow will also take the stage in a live performance. This also marks Harlow’s first solo performance on the VMA stage.
The Pinkprint artist will also take home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which was previously given to LL Cool J in 1997.
MTV announced the news on Twitter this morning:

Harlow is leading with the nominations this year with nods in seven categories, along with Lil Nas X and Kendrick Lamar with the same number of nominations.
His categories include “Artist of the Year” and “Video of the Year.”
Nicki was nominated for “Best Hip-Hop” for her hit, “Do We Have a Problem,” featuring Lil Baby.
Nicki Minaj Becomes The Second Female Rapper To Receive The Video Vanguard Award
Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to announce that she is set to receive the Video Vanguard Award during the MTV’s Video Music Awards on August 28.
This special award is presented to recording artists and music video directors who have significantly impacted pop culture.
Some recipients of the award include Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, and Missy Elliott.
