Some might think it’s an unlikely pairing, but the 2022 VMA hosts have just been announced. Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J, and Jack Harlow will host the award show later this month.
This year, MTV’s 2022 Video Music Awards will return to New Jersey at the Prudential Center in downtown Newark.
Nicki and Harlow will also take the stage in a live performance. This also marks Harlow’s first solo performance on the VMA stage.
The Pinkprint artist will also take home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which was previously given to LL Cool J in 1997.
MTV announced the news on Twitter this morning:
“It wouldn’t be a party without our 2022 #VMA MCs!!! ⭐️ @llcoolj⭐️ @NICKIMINAJ ⭐️ @jackharlow Don’t miss a moment of the fun — Sunday, August 28 at the @vmas on MTV!”
Harlow is leading with the nominations this year with nods in seven categories, along with Lil Nas X and Kendrick Lamar with the same number of nominations.
His categories include “Artist of the Year” and “Video of the Year.”
Nicki was nominated for “Best Hip-Hop” for her hit, “Do We Have a Problem,” featuring Lil Baby.
