Meek Mill Curious On Crypto

Cryptocurrency and NFT’s are taking hip-hop by storm with rappers from JAY-Z to Tekashi to Tory Lanez getting in on the action.  Meek Mill has been watching and, like many who are confused and curious, he feels left out.

After watching cryptocurrency Shiba Inu skyrocket in value last week, Meek Mill tweeted his frustration saying, “how can we figure this coin sh*t out…..I get sad when I see this stuff.”

Jay-Z’s MetaVerse Play

It may be time for Meek to take a page out of JAY-Z’s playbook because the NY icon has already begun trailblazing opportunities in the crypto space. JAY-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners venture capital firm (MVP) recently invested in Spatial Labs, a tech incubator that will focus on cryptocurrency and blockchain developments and products.

Tory Lanez is another rapper who has tapped into the future of hip hop by selling his own music as an NFT.  Lanez partnered with a platform called E-NFT to release his new album When It’s Dark as an NFT, or “non-fungible token.” The idea was for each copy of the album to be minted with a one-of-a-kind token.

Wu-Tang Clan’s unreleased album, Once Upon A Time in Shaolin was acquired by a crypto collective named, “PleaserDAO”. The secret group bought the album for $4 million from a government auction.

Blockchain, MetaVerse and NFT Explained

Most people encounter the Metaverse via VR and gaming — Mindcraft, GTA5, and Roblox are all considered Metaverse products. They have an all-inclusive environment, an economy, and a culture unique to that society.

Blockchain on the other hand is a ledger (like in accounting) where two individuals can engage in a transactional exchange without fear of fraud since blockchain resolves the authenticity issues not supported on the internet.

Crypto is sold via blockchain. For this reason, in the future, companies will build all digital metaverse experiences on the Blockchain.
