Gunna And Young Thug’s Trial Date

According to a tweet from award-winning journalist Jewel Wicker, a Georgia state judge is refusing to release the two-time Grammy award nominee Gunna and Young Thug from jail.

Wicker witnessed the proceeding as a member of the press.  She reported that the “Drip Season” rapper was denied bond and that he will remain in jail until his trial which has been set for January 2023.

Prosecutors in the case refer to Gunna (real name Sergio Kitchens) as a “documented gang member” and how he, alongside Young Thug (real name Jeffrey Williams), would “direct troops” to commit acts of violence. The biggest concern for Judge Glanville is witness tampering.

Gunna and Young Thug were indicted on May 9th on state RICO charges along with 26 members of the YSL “enterprise.”  They both are currently jailed without bond.

Young Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, filed an emergency motion on May 13th stating that his client was placed in “solitary confinement” in a Georgia jail, with a “windowless cement compartment with only a bed and a toilet and an overhead light which remains on 24 hours per day.”   Steel also pointed out that the rapper is unable to sleep, rest, or meditate due to having “no opportunity to exercise, shower or have human contact.”

Gunna Turns Himself In To Authorities On RICO Charges

In related news, the “Pushin’ P” rapper turned himself in to GA authorities in connection with RICO charges that have been leveraged against him. Kitchens is now in custody along with purported YSL gang “founder” Young Thug in a sweep of 28 members of the Atlanta-based street gang.
