YNW Melly has run into some more bad news. The police are accusing the “Murder On My Mind” rapper of trying to escape from prison.
The “Butter Pecan” rapper has previously stated that he is getting out of prison this year but has failed to, even after requesting special care for dental treatment.
Now, it appears he took matters into his own hands after other denied appeals.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s office, the 23-year-old rapper teamed up with one of his lawyers to try to escape from prison.
The Florida Sheriff’s office made the accusation in court on Tuesday. They added that they got a “confidential tip” from two other inmates in the Broward county jail, where Melly is being held.
He is also accused of having shanks and pipe bombs in his cell.
YNW Melly has been incarcerated since 2018. He has since dodged the death penalty for the alleged murders of Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas , Jr. and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams.

Prosecutors In Melly’s Case Are Going For The Jugular
Back in February, the State of Florida’s prosecutor’s office took significant steps to tie rapper YNW Melly to the Bloods gang, taking photos of YNW Melly’s body tattoos.
SOHH obtained a “Motion To Take Photographs Of The Defendant” where prosecutors moved to take photographs of Melly’s tattoos. The motion was moved in hopes of proving alleged gang affiliations.
Melly, real name Jamell Demons, was charged for the October 2018 murder of his friends, YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser.
