California-based rapper Snoop Dogg will contribute his performance in MGM’s upcoming comedy “The Underdoggs,” creating the show along with the “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris

“The Underdoggs” tells a story of a former NFL star player Jaycen Jenning played by Snoop Dogg, who coaches a football team in lieu of prison after breaking the law.

Playing the role of a football coach perfectly lines up with Snoop in real life. The rapper once noted that:

“The Underdoggs is a real personal project for me considering that I’ve been coaching football for 15+ years with the Snoop Youth Football League that I started with my long-time business partner Constance Schwartz-Morini. Giving back to the community through football has taught us so many invaluable life lessons that we’ve been able to share with kids in similar situations like mine when I was growing up. My hope is that this movie will shed light on the realities that kids and adults face in the hood and within the complex world of football.”

Rap’s New Movie Star

Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, and Dave Franco will be teaming up in a Netflix film that will be released on August 12.

The film follows a blue-collar father who becomes an LA vampire hunter for a week to come up with the cash to pay for his kid’s tuition and braces.

The movie will be directed by J.J Perry, who has also worked on projects such as “John Wick,” “Django Unchained,” and “The Father of the Future.” Chad Stahelski is the producer.
