Lil Baby Contemplates Best Female Rapper

Lil Baby’s Grammys Performance
Lil Baby’s Grammys performance has been drawing controversy, but not because of his part. The mother of Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old boy slain by police in Cleveland in 2014, has called out activist Tamika Mallory over her role in it. She called Mallory out among others such as lawyer Ben Crump over trying to get clout out of the deaths of Black people.
Lil Baby Performs The Bigger Picture
The main purpose of Lil Baby’s performance was to draw awareness to police brutality. He performed hit song “The Bigger Picture” in front of a stunned audience, and it certainly seems he mostly got his point across. Some, however, were upset with the inclusion of Mallory and thought he would’ve been better off on his own performing the song.
About The Bigger Picture
“The Bigger Picture” won the BET Hip Hop Award for Best Impact Track and was nominated for Best Rap Performance at the Grammy’s this year, although it didn’t take home the victory. The June 2020 track from Lil Baby came following the death of innocent Black man George Floyd to police brutality and is one of the best protest songs in recent years.
“I find it crazy the police’ll shoot you and know that you dead/ But still tell you to freeze/ Fu*ked up, I seen what I seen/ I guess that mean hold him down if he say he can’t breathe / It’s too many mothers that’s grieving / They killing us for no reason / Been going on for too long to get even/ Throw us in cages like dogs and hyenas/ I went to court and they sent me to prison”
Lyrics per Lil Baby’s “The Bigger Picture”
