New York rapper Nicki Minaj‘s father has reportedly died. Reports claim Robert Maraj had his life cut short following a fatal hit-and-run accident.
Nicki Minaj’s Dad Dies From Being Hit
According to reports, the shocking incident went down Friday with New York police claiming he was walking on a road around 6 PM ET. A vehicle hit him and fled the scene with witnesses unable to provide a description of the person.
Robert was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries and passed over the weekend. The Homicide Squad is investigating the case and asking for the public’s help in identifying the responsible party. There was not a decent description of the suspect vehicle provided. Nicki hasn’t spoken on her dad’s death yet. There are shots of them together embracing over the years, so they obviously had a decent relationship and saw each other from time to time. It’s unclear what Nicki’s relationship with her dad was currently. (TMZ)
Nicki’s aunt and the sister to her dad has since come forward to speak out.
“My heart is so heavy right now, my bro I can’t fully process it, I can’t stop crying, it hurts really, really bad. Please pray for my family for strength, he was the King and the head of the Maraj family. My bro was a victim of a hit and run on Friday.”

In January 2021, Minaj hit up Instagram with a must-see set of pics. The shots show Nicki’s sister Ming looking like her spot-on identical twin.

In late December 2020, the Queens native went to her Twitter page and didn’t hold back on telling all. Nicki tweeted about everything related to her tummy throughout a publicized pregnancy and how she’s handling her current mommy duties.
