“Beyonce did what Silk Sonic tried and failed to do.”
The comparisons being referenced are Silk Sonic’s An Evening With Silk Sonic and Beyonce’s Renaissance albums.
The tweet was immediately hit with disagreements and rebuttals.
Both sides had their support and were sharply defending their favorite album.
Some comments stated that since these albums are different genres, there should not be a comparison between the two.
“This obsession with trying to humble Silk Sonic is boring and tired,” said a person in one tweet.
Beyonce released her seventh album Renaissance last Friday, and Silk Sonic dropped An Evening With Silk Sonic last March.

Last Friday, Beyoncè released her latest album, Renaissance. This is Beyonce’s seventh album and first since 2016’s Lemonade.
Beyonce used numerous writers for her album and has vocals from singers such as Grace Jones and Tems.
The album is expected to do well but was met with controversy for using an ableist slur on one of the tracks called “Heated.”
