KATSEYE’s style is how your friend group should dress

It’s hard to properly dress a girl group. Just ask Fifth Harmony, whose history of awkwardly uncoordinated red carpet looks still occupy the public’s consciousness nearly a decade after their breakup. Stylistically conveying the personalities of many-parted organism such as a girl group requires a certain advanced level of stylistic precision — and these days, KATSEYE is the girl group to most consistently nail that formula every single time.

Since the HYBE x Geffen-created act debuted in 2024, Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae, aided heavily by creative director Humberto Leon, have not just been saving girl group fashion but resuscitating it to an exciting degree. What makes KATSEYE special is that the members don’t rely on a specific aesthetic or archetypes — typical of acts that have come before them — to define their look. Instead, Leon’s strategy has been to craft a cohesive teen-slash-early 20s vibe that still honors each members’ preferences and doesn’t sacrifice personality or their cultural backgrounds.

KATSEYE’s style sweet spots are late-’90s and Y2K silhouettes (see: Devon Aoki, Chloë Sevigny, Gregg Araki, Sofia Coppola films, and editorial shoots from Dutch and Self Service), which have led fans to compare their sartorial synergy to Bratz dolls or Winx Club characters. We broke down the sartorial formula of each KATSEYE member, from the signature silhouettes they often lean on to the go-to beauty touches that bring their fits together, so you can stunt just as memorably with your pals.

Manon

Manon Bannerman, who has Ghanian-Italian heritage and comes from Zürich, Switzerland, is a sucker for androgynous styles. The 23-year-old is often seen in baggy, low-rise jeans paired with a vintage tee during practices or while just out and about. But when it’s time to truly step out, Manon enlists crop tops, mini dresses, and tiny skirts. She always accessorizes with waist beads — a traditional Ghanaian accessory that symbolizes femininity, which she wears cinched at the waist. Her look is completed with her signature sharp, straight eyebrows and waist-length braids.

Daniela

Daniela Avanzini, who has Cuban and Venezuelan roots, is KATSEYE’s residential hot girl. The 20-year-old’s outfits follow a particular formula: When she’s not chilling in a tee and slouchy jeans, she keeps bodycon minis, crop tops, and flared pants in rotation. Low-rise bottoms have also become a staple, especially ones that accentuate her hips.

Sophia

Sophia Laforteza, hailing from Manila, Philippines, leads the Katseye pack. The 22-year-old can adapt to a slew of experimental aesthetics at any given moment — think, the sartorial chaos that is “Gnarly” — but she’s usually seen embodying a preppy approach that plays on proportions. Sophia favors fitting button-ups, tight tops, mini skirts, and knee-high boots. Bonus points if they come with a heel.

Lara

Lara Raj is never not seen in baddie attire. The 19-year-old, New York City native is always donning short skirts, barely-there shorts, and teeny tiny tops — bikinis, especially, are her silhouette du jour. Lara commitment to looking fierce, however, doesn’t interrupt her incorporating cultural touches; she usually honors her Indian heritage by wearing a bindi — jewelry that for many South Asians represents Hindu beliefs and their familial roots.

“I really wanted to make something like the Ohm necklace or the bindi into a fashion statement and something that people could see as, ‘Whoa, that’s so sick!’ and, ‘That’s so fire,’” she told Teen Vogue. “And other brown girls, they want to wear it too, as a thing. It’s not something to get made fun of for. Because I always got made fun of for it, I really want to change that.”

Megan

Of all the members, Megan Skiendiel’s style stands out for its eccentricity. The Chinese-Swedish singer, raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, embodies an unconventional approach both on and off screen. Her bold colors and mismatched outfits reflect a spunky edge, and it’s complemented by her experimental hairstyles — such as orange hair, hime cuts, and baby pink face-framing bangs — that match her quirky energy.

Yoonchae

Rahul Bhatt

Yoonchae Jeung might be the youngest of KATSEYE, but don’t underestimate her ability to make a sartorial statement. The 17-year-old, who hails from Seoul, South Korea, often touts cute and trendy outfits that are still age appropriate. Though she’s at the beginning of her style journey, Yoonchae has already discovered a few silhouettes that she frequently opts for: V-shaped handkerchief tops and corsets paired with baggy pants and mini skirts.
