I’ve never planned my life around a horoscope, but I enjoy astrology as a meditative practice. I find astrological charts mesmerizing, and reading someone’s birth chart is a fun party trick. The idea that the planets could influence our day-to-day fits my semi-secular lifestyle perfectly fine, mainly because I’m not going to do that much about it anyway. Likewise, this zodiac playlist mirrors distant planetary movements, but the main goal is bringing you a monthly roundup of great music you haven’t heard yet.
Taurus season kicks off April 20 and will see some major transits. What’s a transit? Thanks for asking: it’s the path a planet takes through the sky as seen from Earth. As celestial bodies move at different speeds across the sky, they shift from one sign of the zodiac to the next.
In astrology, different planets rule different categories of our lives—transportation, relationships, luck, etc.—and whatever sign they’re in at the moment can influence our lives in different ways. And if the combination of 12 zodiac signs and nine planets (yes, Pluto still counts) wasn’t enough, these different transits can intersect and interact with each other as well. But that’s getting too deep in the weeds; what you really need to know is that this Taurus season—with rare sign changes for Uranus and Pluto, and some exciting inner planet movements besides—will be a period of evolution and transformation.
Read on for a closer look at the horoscope for Taurus season 2026 and a playlist featuring M.I.A., bunii, Tokischa, Rob49, Che, Cece Natalie, Dani Kiyoko, Oxis, kels!, kuru, Bia Soull, gunk, Namasenda, Lulrose, Babyface Ray, and more.
Uranus Enters Gemini (April 25)
What It Means: Uranus represents change. As a slower-moving outer planet, it only changes signs every seven or eight years, so the transit into Gemini indicates upheaval in the realms of communication and information. Outer planets can have a broader influence on society, but in our daily lives, that could mean anything from getting better at keeping up with our friends to reorienting our use of social media.

Full Moon in Scorpio (May 1)
What It Means: The moon rules over dreams and our subconscious, but it’s in detriment in Scorpio, turning that energy inward. Our inner desires might feel supercharged or all-consuming. Be wary of jealous behaviors and manic thoughts.

Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius (May 6)
What It Means: Like Uranus, Pluto is a slow-moving outer planet, shifting signs only rarely. This year’s retrograde transit is a bit of an outlier, as it will only last for six months before the planet turns direct again. A planet is considered “retrograde” when it appears to move backwards in the sky, leading to astrological drama. Pluto rules over death, transformation, and rebirth, so this period will push us to consider what needs to be culled so the things that matter can thrive.

Mercury Enters Gemini (May 17)
What It Means: Mercury rules over communication and transportation, and Gemini is one of two signs it’s most at-home in. This transit brings a sociable air with it, though that could be too much of a good thing: when everyone is eager to talk, it can be hard to get a word in. The stars are aligning to throw a mixer with all your friends.
What to Listen to: “Scup” by Oxis, “Noir Kei” by kuru, “Chi 2 London” by kels!
Mars Enters Taurus (May 18)
What It Means: Mars is in detriment in Taurus, which gives the coming six weeks a simmering tension. Things may seem calm on the surface, but underneath, the planet that rules rage, lust, and energy is heating up. An organized routine could help channel this energy towards positive outlets as opposed to outbursts.

Venus Enters Cancer (May 18)
What It Means: Everyone knows Venus rules over our love lives, but it also rules over finances. Like Mercury in Gemini, Venus in Cancer is a very well-suited transit, maximizing blessings for first dates and bank balances alike.
