Rapper Sexyy Red has been making waves in the hip-hop industry in the past couple of months, proving that she’s here for the long haul. As her talent and unique style continue to gain mass recognition, many may wonder– who is she?

Sexyy Red is a St. Louis, MO native who began rapping in 2019. She has created a fanbase utilizing sexually charged lyrics in a relatable fashion while also showing authenticity in her music videos. 

At the beginning of her career, the Ghetto Superstar artist began posting her music on her YouTube channel. Her earliest song, “Slide Remix,” garnered over 200,000 views on the platform.

The young rapper’s style of music is similar to fellow rappers, GloRilla, and Ice Spice. All three have relatable lyrics while also featuring their friends in their music videos to simulate authenticity to their audience. 

Sexxy Red Takes Over Social Media

The “Thousand Juggs” rapper is no stranger to being the topic of conversation.

Her single “Poundtown” has been the talk of Twitter, causing a non-stop buzz. The song was produced by Tay Keith and exhibited a fun flow with a solid bassline. 

The song has been well received on social media, with fans requesting a remix to the song, and making their own verse just for fun. 

Rapper GloRilla and R&B singer Summer Walker both took to social media and posted themselves listening to it and even remixing the song. 

Saucy Santana tweeted, “ I wanna remix ‘Pound Town’!!! I love that song in the club.”

Fellow rapper Kidd Kenn also made his own verse to the popular song. 

The “Push Start” rapper has even secured a feature with rapper NLE Choppa for his song “Slut Me Out,” also featuring rapper  Sukihana. This is not the only collaboration between the “Slob On My Ckat” singer and the “Throw Dat Thang” rapper.

In October 2022, the two paired up for another song called “Born By The River.” 

According to Sexxy Red’s interview with Off The Porch, the song was inspired by a vine that went viral where the song, originally sung by Sam Cooke was remixed with a more modern/urban flare. 

Known for going viral with shocking lyrics that stick, Sexyy Red has cracked the code to succeeding in the rap game and is slowly becoming part of the mainstream roster.
