Toronto rapper Tory Lanez isn’t keeping silent. The hip-hop crooner has come forward to speak up on reports about him getting charged in connection to the shooting of estranged friend Megan Thee Stallion.
Tory Lanez Supports Meg Thee Stallion Fans
The hip-hop star went to his Twitter page and didn’t hold back on sharing his state of mind. The rap crooner reminded fans a charge doesn’t mean he’s convicted and also thanked both his and Meg’s fans for their support.
“⏰ will ? … and the truth will come to the light … I have all faith in God to show that … love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart … a charge is not a conviction . If you have supported me or meg thru this , I genuinely appreciate u .” -Tory Lanez’s Twitter
Internet Flames Tory Lanez
This week, social media came forward to go off on Lanez following the charge reports. The Internet specifically took aim at Tory’s stature and how he would likely hold up behind bars.
Tory Lanez Charged + Faces 22 Years
According to reports, Lanez is charged in connection to the shooting incident with Stallion. The decision follows Tory recently putting out his DAYSTAR album proclaiming his innocence.
The L.A. County D.A.’s Office hit him with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The D.A. also alleges Tory inflicted great bodily injury. If convicted, the rapper/singer faces up to 22 years and 8 months in prison. As we reported … the prosecutors had said they were mulling over a charge of felony assault with a firearm against Tory after Megan said she was shot back in July. Remember, Tory had been arrested but only charged with possession of a firearm. Prosecutors are now explicitly pointing the finger at Tory as the man who pulled the trigger … leaving Meg with a gruesome foot injury. (TMZ)
Tory Responds To Media Hate
Last week, Lanez went to his Instagram Story to keep things 100. Tory shared screenshots showing popular publications revealing either a negative opinion of him or stating a lack of support for his career.
“I’ve never seen verified publications … come together with ‘biased’ opinions for a smear campaign on an artist … however I still have love for each and everyone of you who continue to choose money over truth. My heart and and character doesn’t change because yours does. … I don’t move on social media’s time. I move on Gods time. I don’t operate in fear, I operate in FAITH. I don’t bow down to the lies of m an. I stick with the TRUTH of god. And for those reasons. It doesn’t matter who rises against me in this hour and small season. BIG OR SMALL OBSTACLE …. I will PREVAIL and RISE to GREATNESS. As GOD SAID I WILL.” -Tory Lanez’s Instagram Story
