Suge Knight Implies Fraud In Snoop Dogg’s Acquisition Of Death Row Records

Former CEO of Death Row Records, Suge Knight, has made headlines claiming that Snoop Dogg’s label purchase may have been fraudulent. Knight’s allegations come amid a long-standing feud, raising questions about the transaction’s legitimacy.

Suge Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records, has cast doubt on the legitimacy of the label’s sale to Snoop Dogg and his ex-business partner Michael “Harry-O” Harris. In an interview with TMZ from the CA State Penitentiary, Knight suggested that the sale may have been fraudulent.

According to TMZ, Suge, who is serving 28 years for voluntary manslaughter,  personally believes it isn’t Death Row Records without his name attached. Suge Knight alleged his ex-partner Harry-O may have engaged in bankruptcy fraud to gain control of Death RowRecords.

According to reports, Snoop had no involvement in the bankruptcy proceedings and only acquired Death Row from MNRK in 2022.  Harry-O is said to have had no public role in that transaction.

Knight also claimed the label was only forfeited after a lawyer failed to attend court and that the bankruptcy proceedings were a complete sham,  adversely affecting the label’s artists and directly violating the law.

Knight’s comments come after Snoop Dogg and Harry-O announced their purchase of the iconic rap label. It remains to be seen how this latest development will affect the future of Death Row Records.

In a related development, Knight confirmed that Death Row Records was indeed a violent workplace in an interview with TMZ earlier this week. Knight spoke about the upcoming TV biopic about the infamous label, which he is producing, and promises to reveal all truths through his perspective.He said that the biopic would explore the darker side of Death Row Records, including the shootings, fights, and other violent incidents that were rumored to have occurred there.  One such incident involved rapper Vanilla Ice who said was hung out of a window by Knight for the rights to his publishing.

Snoop Dogg says he wants to bring new sounds to hip-hop today — something he intends to do if he gets his wish to take control of Death Row Records.

Snoop spoke in an interview with Million Dollaz Worth Of Game and cited how Hip-Hop music today is vastly different from the past. Snoop, who had his heyday in the 90s with Death Row Records remarked about how unique the styles were then compared to now. 

 “Can you imagine growing up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s with music sounding the same? If you listen to Tupac’s first album, Biggie’s first album, and Snoop’s first album, ain’t no two things the same.”

Snoop Wants Death Row

During the interview, Snoop mentions that he “wants control of Death Row.” He says that “Death Row means more to me because I helped create that. I think they should give me that and let me run that shit with the merchandise out, with the music all over the world. [Add] some new West Coast acts.” 

Snoop helped build and grow Death Row Records from 1992-1998 with hit records including his platinum-selling album, “Doggy Style.”

The project is a follow-up to “From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites,“ and the album will feature a lot of big names, including Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, and Benny The Butcher.
