In a new documentary called “Toronto Rising: 40’s Very Own,” Shebib lets his truth be told with never before seen photos and videos from his childhood.
Shebib documents his journey to becoming Drake’s go-to producer. In the beginning, he shares that his love started very young, and started playing the piano at three years old. Growing up in Toronto, 40 described the diversity of the city and even in the present day with a good mix of races, religions, and cultures. While hanging out as a teen in the Canadian melting pot, he discovered his love for hip hop in 1993.

In the music world, 40 is best known for being a frequent collaborator with rap superstar, Drake who of course is from Toronto as well. One of the stories that was included in the documentary was how he and Drake recorded at the Toronto Carpet Manufacturing building long before the fame kicked in.
40 explains that not only the partnership but the friendship between him and Drake has been critical for his success. While helping him collaborate on his latest album “Certified Lover Boy”, 40 shared his Instagram story a sneak peek of the process to the highly anticipated project.
