Snootie Wild Succumbs To Neck Wound From Ambush Attack

Memphis rapper Snootie Wild was shot on Friday, Feb 25 in Houston after an apparent ambush.  The rapper sustained a wound in his neck and was in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries.

ABC 13 reports that a man was found shot in the neck early Friday in the south side region of Houston. Authorities say they received reports about gunfire at around 2 am and discovered a man in a ditch next to an SUV. According to ABC 13, a neighbor captured the shooting on video, which authorities are now reviewing. Houston Police are investigating his homicide currently. It is unclear if they have named any persons of interest. 

Snootie Wild was 36 years old. He is best known for being signed to Yo Gotti’s Cocaine Music Group (CMG) and his hit breakout single “Yayo” in 2013.

Snootie’s official IG page acknowledged the rapper’s passing today with a post, saying “Gone in body, but your NAME & LEGACY will live forever!

Hip Hop Figures and Fans Remember Snootie Wild On Social Media

Hip-Hop figures including K-Camp, DJ Paul, and Lil Boosie all acknowledged Snootie Wild’s passing on social media today. Many fans also weighed in on the tragic loss of the young rapper.

Boosie posted to Twitter his condolences, noting how much Snootie always lifted his spirits, saying, “Rest up SNOOTIE WILD‼️ #livenigga nigga kept me laughing”

Houston legend DJ Paul of the legendary 36Mafia posted a pic of him and Snootie posed up in Magic City and captioned it simply with “#ripsnootiewild”.

K Camp shared one of Snootie’s lyrics, reflecting on the Houston rapper’s impact, followed by the caption, “Damn. RIP gang.”
