Last night’s Verzuz was hosted by Deray Davis and started with Bobby Valentino, Ray J, Pleasure P, and Sammie as the opening acts.
Sammie started by talking trash to Bobby Valentino, saying:
“I started this. There wouldn’t be a Bobby Valentino without Sammie.”
Later on, Ray J got upset when the other singers started singing his song, “One Wish,” without him.
After the opening festivities, Omarion and Mario came out to perform their hits. The B2K singer brought out dancers as he opened up with the song “Touch” before Mario ended the round with one of his famous songs, “Just A Friend.”
Later on, Omarion brought out notable guests such as Jeremih and Tank.
The show took a turn when Mario started performing songs that the crowd was unfamiliar with.
Towards the end, Omarion thought he was going to have the top song of the Verzuz before Mario told him:
“It’s not over until I say it’s f-cking over.” before going into the 2004 smash hit, “Let Me Love You.”
Before the Verzuz battle, Omarion and Mario got into promotion mode as they prepared to face off against each other in last night’s Verzuz at 10:50 ET.
In the video, the two artists roasted each other. At the same time, comedian Deray Davis was instigating the back and forth as he told both of them that they’re his favorites:
“I ain’t going to lie that’s got to be the hardest record anybody working on man, but you know Mario upstairs, you know Mario man but you know you my favorite.”
Deray went on to visit Mario upstairs and said:
“Omarion is here did you know, I told him you were here but he was just mentioning how he was working on the best album in the studio.”
Mario eventually stopped Deray to tell him:
“You just focus on being on the right side of history.”
The singers continued to roast each other, trading insults about one another’s singing skills. At the end of the video, both singers met up and confronted each other over words stating the only way to settle the trash talk is through the Verzuz battle.
