Lizzo, Mary J. Blige, and DJ Khaled will perform at the 65th annual Grammy Awards airing on CBS Feb 5. Jay-Z is also rumored to join DJ Khaled on stage, and Trevor Noah is set to host the award show.
Months after award nomination announcements, the Grammys officially announced Lizzo, Mary J. Blige, and DJ Khaled would be taking the stage at the award ceremony.
The show will also be hosted by former Daily Show host Trevor Noah when it airs at 8 PM on Feb. 5th.
Rumor Has It
There are also rumors adding to the fanfare that Khaled could bring out Jay-Z, who is known to show off his past wins at the show. They are rumored to perform “God Did” from the same-titled album that went No. 1 on Billboard.
In addition, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul will make her way to the stage after coming off her recent tour for her 14th album, Good Morning Gorgeous.
This year’s Grammys follows a year after Rap A Lot Records boss, J. Prince said Black people should boycott the award show because of its history of “not showing love to hip-hop culture.”
Missy Elliott Lil Wayne & Dr. Dre To Be Honored
Furthermore, Rap icons Lil Wayne, Missy Elliott, and Dr. Dre will also be honored at the Black Music Collective for their contributions to music. They will be honored during Grammy weekend with the Global Impact Award.
