New Deal With Big Expectations
The new global deal was brokered by TITLE 9 and expects a full project from the rapper in early 2023.
“I’m thrilled to join the MNRK family,” said Kash Doll. “The team share my vision for my artistry and supports my goals of finding new, incredible talent!”
The label lists artists with chart-topping talent from Blueface, DJ Drama, Sevyn Streeter, K Michelle, and even producer Zaytoven.
“We are thrilled to be in business with Kash Doll,”
said MNRK’s President of Urban Music Alan Grunblatt.
The president continued by uplifting Kash by saying,
“To quote our friend Royce 5’9″, in his song ‘Overcomer’ – ‘The best rapper between Cardi and Meg Thee Stallion is Kash Doll.’”
Record Label Drama
Her first deal that she signed in 2015 with a small Detroit label, BMB Records, involved a lengthy legal battle.
She was barred from releasing music on streaming platforms.
After four mixtapes and EP’s, the rapper released her debut album “Stacked” in 2019.
It features her hit song “Ice me Out” that hit top 15 on Billboard’s Rap Album. During that time, Kash Doll was signed to Republic Records.
The label deal’s legality was all too new to her. Days before her album was released, Kash Doll posted a video on Twitter apologizing to fans for the delay.
“All of this is new to me. I have never had to turn in an album,” said Kash Doll. “ All these samples and clearances and stuff is new to me. So we had to push back because something happened last minute. I’m sorry.”
Expanding Her Career
Kash Doll has also shown off her acting skills, appearing on the show “Empire” in 2020.
She recently landed a recurring role as Monique on 50 Cent’s show “BMF.”
Last week, Kash Doll and her boo Tracy T sat on the “Big Facts” podcast.
She opened up about the benefits of acting rather than living the unpredictable rapper lifestyle.
“When you’re acting you really get to settle and be yourself,” said Kash Doll. “ You can plan things, so I can be with my boys at home.”
Season two of “BMF” is set to premiere on September 30.
