Rappers took the stage at the 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards to give a show and pay their respects to the late artists who were lost to gun violence.

Brooklyn rapper and actor Joey Bada$$ performed “Head High” from his latest album, 2000, and paid tribute to late rappers Nipsey Hussle, XXXtentacion, Pop Smoke, etc., and ended his performance with a powerful message delivered in a freestyle.

“As rappers, we gotta stop perpetuating our own genocide,” Joey said. “How yall rappers call yourselves real, then turn around and tell these kids to kill each other. It’s time to take accountability,” he also added.

The 27-year-old rapper was referring to numerous rappers being shot and killed.

In loving memory of PnB Rock, Kodak Black paid the late rapper a tribute by performing their 2016 song “Too Many Years” before performing his songs.

The Florida rapper came under fire for his comments about PnB Rock’s girlfriend after his death for allegedly posting his location before being shot and killed.

Kodak Black Apologizes To PNB Rock’s Girlfriend

The “Super Gremlin” rapper made disturbing remarks about PnB Rock’s girlfriend on his Instagram page after PNB rock’s passing but later apologized on his Instagram live.

Kodak Black also mentioned that he was angry at that moment and blamed her since the internet was also doing it.
