Eminem Apologizes To Rihanna For Siding W/ Chris Brown

As usual, Detroit rap icon Eminem name-drops a ton of entertainment-industry heavyweights on his new album. On Music To Be Murdered By: Side B, the roll call includes an apology from Em to pop superstar Rihanna.

Eminem Addresses Chris Brown-Rihanna Controversy

Back in 2009, Rihanna was assaulted by her then-boyfriend, R&B star Chris Brown. Eminem brought the case up in an unreleased song that was leaked: “Of course I side with Chris Brown / I’d beat a b**** down too.” On his new song “Zeus,” Slim Shady addresses the old lyric and makes amends.

“Long as I re-promise to be honest / And wholeheartedly, apologies, Rihanna / For that song that leaked, I’m sorry, Ri / It wasn’t meant to cause you grief / Regardless, it was wrong of me.”

No Tension Between Eminem + Rihanna

Despite the public apology, there doesn’t seem to be any beef between Eminem and Rihanna over the decade-old incident. The two have collaborated on a number of songs over the years, such as “Love the Way You Lie” and “Numb.”

Daz Dillinger Weighs In On Eminem Vs. Snoop Dogg Beef

The most talked-about lines “Zeus” are the lyrical shots Eminem takes at fellow hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg. The Dogg Father’s longtime collaborator and cousin Daz Dillinger reacts to the tensions brewing between Slim Shady and Snoop.

“@eminem diss @snoopdogg WOW,” Das wrote on Instagram with fire and explosion emojis. “WHATS NEXT FROM THE TWO ICONZ OF RAP, WOW.”

Eminem’s First-Week Sales Projections

Em’s album is doing big numbers, as usual. The Grammy winner’s first-week projections have surfaced and have him competing against some of the biggest names in the music biz.

Taylor Swift gets the edge for a second week at #1, but she’s got some competition from Sir PaulMcCartney. Swift seems certain to hit 100k+ this week as evermore (Republic) CDs hit stores just in time for Christmas. Can McCartney, who’s currently projecting a little under 100k, close the gap? Stay tuned. Eminem’s deluxe Music to Be Murdered By–Side B is headed for #3. Paul McCartney (Capitol) 85-95k total activity, 80-90k albums Eminem (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) 70-80k, 25-30k (HITS Daily Double)
