Pharrell Williams has been the center of a new controversy after Vans insinuated plagiarism on his part, soon after the musical maestro revealed the skate-inspired Louis Vuitton show. However, in the midst of all the noise, there is also a lot of music coming out too.
At the most recent Louis Vuitton SS27 Fashion Show, Pharrell Williams premiered new musical collaborations with some of new age hip hop’s finest artists — Lil Baby, Quavo, and NBA YoungBoy. The songs served as sonic backdrops for the models at the LV show, as they walked over sand with an artificial waterfall-like structure behind them.
Arguably, the track featuring NBA YoungBoy seems to be the most energetic of the three, and “Haavin” with Quavo certainly stands out as the most catchy. Thematically, the collaboration with Lil Baby fits like a glove, with the artist rapping about luxury brands and the finer things in life, while also shouting out Pharrell by stating, “this beat came from Pharrell.” Check the snippets below!
