Lana Del Rey has lifted the lid on her next album, revealing that her 10th studio album will mark a change in sound. Speaking at a pre-Grammy event hosted by Billboard in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, Del Rey said she is working on a country album, aptly titled Lasso, and plans to release in September of this year.
“If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening,” Del Rey said at the Billboard Power 100 Party 2024. “That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years.”

Jack, of course, is Jack Antonoff, the producer of multiple Del Rey albums including 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. The pair are regular collaborators with Del Rey set to appear on the upcoming Bleachers album, as well as Antonoff-produced soundtrack to the Apple TV+ series The New Look.
Del Rey’s move towards country will come as no surprise to those who have kept track of her recent activity. In September sang Tammy Wynette‘s “Stand By Your Man” during an impromptu karaoke performance in Nashville. She then released a cover of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver in December. Earlier this month, meanwhile, Del Rey shared a preview of an unreleased song, “Henry, Come On,” on Instagram.
In April Del Rey will headline Coachella. She joins fellow headliners Tyler, The Creator and Doja Cat at the festival, which takes place on April 12-14 and 19-21.
