Caroline Polachek dropped Desire, I Want To Turn Into You (our 17th favorite album of last year) on Valentine’s Day 2023. Now, exactly one year later, she’s shared a deluxe version of the record.

Desire, I Want To Turn Into You: Everasking Edition extends the original project by seven tracks, including the Weyes Blood-featuring rendition of mid-album ballad “Butterfly Net” that initially dropped as a single last week, and “Dang,” an archly campy showstopper from October. There’s also an acoustic take on the Desire… cut “I Believe,” plus two brand new tracks: “Meanwhile” and “Gambler’s Prayer.”

The other two additions are “deep cut nods to songs that inspired the album,” according to a press release — an A.G. Cook-produced cover of Operating Theatre’s “Spring Is Coming With A Strawberry In The Mouth” and “Coma,” a rework of Default Genders’ “Pharmacoma (for Ben Deitz).”
