Ayo Edebiri has been announced as the host of the February 3 episode of Saturday Night Live. In her first appearance on the show, she’ll be joined by musical guest Jennifer Lopez, who’s hosted SNL multiple times (most recently in 2019) but hasn’t had new music to promote in a decade.

That’s changed in recent months, with her ninth studio album, This Is Me… Now — the first follow-up to 2014’s A.K.A.— confirmed back in November for a February 16 arrival. The record’s release will coincide with the debut of This Is Me…Now: The Film on Prime Video.

In recent years, Ayo Edebiri has catapulted to superstar status by way of her role as chef Sydney Adamu in The Bear, as well as co-starring in Bottoms and Theater Camp and writing for Big Mouth and Dickinson. Lopez, meanwhile, has starred in five feature films in the past five years, including 2019’s Hustlers. As SNL’s host and musical guest, they’ll follow Dakota Johnson and Justin Timberlake, who were announced last week for the show’s January 27 episode.
