Bas, a rapper signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville label, shared on Instagram that he would soon release his fourth studio album, We Only Talk About Sh*t When We’re F*cked Up.

Who is Abbas “Bas” Hamad?
Bas’ legal name is Abbas Hamad. The 35-year-old was born in Paris and raised in Queens, New York. He is of Sudanese descent.
He Was The First Artist To Sign With Dreamville
Fayetteville, NC rapper J. Cole started Dreamville with his manager Ibrahim Hamad. Hamad is Dreamville’s president and Bas’ brother. Bas signed to the label in 2013 as the first artist.

A Frequent Collaborator With J. Cole
Bas was featured on J. Cole’s 2013 album, Born Sinner, on the track “New York Times” feat 50 Cent.
Bas and J. Cole have worked on numerous tracks together, including 2016’s “Night Job,” 2018’s “Tribe,” and 2021’s song with New York rapper Lil Tjay, “The Jackie.” In the video game NBA2K23, Bas is in animated form when he listens to J. Cole rap his verse.
Bas was also on the track, “Down Bad,” along with J. Cole, Atlanta rapper Young Nudy and other Dreamville artists, J.I.D., and rap duo Earthgang. This is Bas’ first platinum feature.

In relation to Dreamville, J. Cole dropped a song called “90 Proof” with St. Louis rapper Smino in September. Smino has released three studio albums and has worked with other artists such as J.I.D., Gupdad 4000, and Buddy with the group named the Zoink Gang.
