Many rappers have not lasted as long as the music mogul, and fewer have found other outlets successful.
During an interview on Kevin Hart’s show, “Hart To Heart,” the “Izzo” rapper was asked by Hart if there are any retirement plans.
“I don’t know what happens next. I’m not actively making music or making albums or plans to make an album, but I never want to say I’m retired and who am I to shut it off,” HOV said.
The Grammy award-winning artist also mentioned how he was “burnt out” early in his career after dropping four albums in five years.
When Jay-Z decides to retire, his resume is impressive, with a career spanning three decades and 13 studio albums.
Jay Wants To Leave His Mark
If Jay-Z were to retire, his impact would go beyond music, but his advice is influential as well, particularly with 21 Savage.
In an interview on Math Hoffa’s podcast, he explained how Jay-Z helped him try to get released from ICE in 2019.
The “A lot” rapper said Jay got him a lawyer to support his case and told him to get a lawyer, chef, and doctor when he got released.
Another piece of advice Jay gave him was to buy and invest in art.
