Lizzo dropped some animated visuals for her song, “Soulmate,” off her album, “Cuz I Love You,” featuring the Fab 5 from “Queer Eye.”
More than a year after dropping, Cuz I Love You, the album that launched her into stardom, Lizzo has released an animated visual for one of the tracks, “Soulmate,” and her cartoon self is joined by some very special guests. In the music video for the empowering, self-love anthem, Lizzo finds herself on a journey toward finally learning how to become her own soulmate. On the way, she crosses paths with the Fab Five from the Netflix series, Queer Eye, who assist her in arriving at her self-love destination. Bobby Berk, who serves as the design expert on the show, pours her drinks and officiates her wedding to herself, while Karamo Brown, culture expert, hypes her up.
Fashion expert Tan France gives her a wardrobe makeover before Antoni Porowski, who usually deals with food and wine, surprises her with a bunch of Corgi puppies. Finally, hairstylist extraordinaire, Jonathan Van Ness, give her a fresh new ‘do.
While the song may not be new, exactly, Lizzo wanted to do something to celebrate Pride month, and due to her limited options as a result of the pandemic, she decided to animate herself and the Queer Eye Fab Five while promoting a positive message. Check out the “Soulmate” video above.
