Spitfire Audio and Akai Professional have officially released two new sound libraries for the MPC: Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition and Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition. This launch represents the latest milestone in the companies’ ongoing collaboration, which was first unveiled at NAMM 2026.
These libraries are designed to integrate Spitfire’s high-end, composer-friendly soundscapes directly into the MPC workflow. By bringing these textures into the hardware environment, producers can now utilize professional-grade strings and pads directly from their pads and controllers, eliminating the need to toggle between external software and hardware interfaces.

Spitfire Audio has long been a staple for film scorers and producers, while the MPC remains a foundational tool for beatmaking and standalone production. This integration effectively transforms the MPC into a more robust, compact scoring workstation.

The Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition features recordings of 25 London string players captured at AIR Studios, complete with close and tree mic signals, dynamic controls, and integrated reverb. Meanwhile, Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition offers 23 evolving presets derived from orchestral sources, synthesizers, and processed textures, providing users with deep control over attack, release, distortion, and tonal shaping.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Spitfire Audio founder Paul Thomson noted the historical significance of the partnership: “Akai Professional gear has been with me for most of my music career. I even started out writing orchestral drama underscores on an MPC60.”
Both libraries are compatible with MPC OS 3.7.1 and are available for purchase now.
