A Deeper Look at Slayyyter’s Latest Project
On March 27, 2026, pop artist Slayyyter is set to release her highly anticipated album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA. The project marks a significant evolution for the New York City-based singer, as she leans into her St. Louis roots and explores vulnerable themes beneath her signature grit-pop aesthetic.

Among the tracks on the record, “Gas Station” and “Brittany Murphy” stand out as her most personal offerings to date, tackling complex family dynamics and mental health struggles.
The Stories Behind the Songs
“Gas Station” began as a song about a former partner but evolved into a reflection on her estranged father. Slayyyter shared, “I had a really rocky relationship with him. We don’t really speak anymore. I have a sad, solemn memory of when I was really young and he left me at a gas station.”
The album closer, “Brittany Murphy,” serves as a raw exploration of depression. Named after the late actress, the track is described by Slayyyter as “almost tongue-in-cheek about wanting to die.” She added, “Ever since I was really young, I had a sadness in my core that is hard to shake sometimes. As I’ve gotten older, I have found creative releases that I find comfort with.”

Following the success of singles like “BEAT UP CHANEL$” and “CRANK,” Slayyyter is currently reaching a new career peak. She is scheduled to embark on a massive, sold-out tour this September.
