R&B singer Trey Songz was just trying to eat. New details have come out about the music veteran’s recent arrest at an NFL playoff game and why it went down.
New Details Emerge On Songz’ Arrest
Songz was reportedly trying to just eat some fries, and that’s why he pulled his mask down. Cops originally busted him on the premise that he refused to wear a mask, however the Kansas City Chiefs stadium currently allows fans to remove their protective gear to eat and drink.
A new video from the Trey Songz saga shows he had a good excuse to take off his mask at one point during the Chiefs game — but it won’t help his case with cops. As you can see, Trey’s face mask was in chin strap mode as he chowed down on a cup of french fries. While masks were required for all fans, the stadium does allow an exemption for eating and drinking. However, we’re told this was about 10-15 minutes before the KCPD officer came over — backing up 3 visits from stadium security — demanding Trey pull up his mask. The other interesting element to this new video is that you can see there are at least a couple other fans watching the fight who didn’t have their masks up. (TMZ)

We’re told the officer approached Trey, and without warning, went after him. The witness says Trey was totally caught off guard when the officer got physical, and started to defend himself. Once backup got there, they were able to separate Trey and the cop … and they put Trey in handcuffs. 9:56 PM PT — A law enforcement source tells us … Songz was arrested for trespassing, resisting arrest — both misdemeanors — and for assaulting a police officer … a low-grade felony. We’re told he’s on a 24-hour hold, and will likely be released Monday night. (TMZ)
