Leave Her Alone!
Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who just received justice in her case against Tory Lanez for shooting her, has reported another claim. According to Billboard, the “Plan B” rapper has accused her label, 1501 Entertainment, of harassing Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez for being involved in her case.
That Meddling CEO?
The Traumazine artist sought a protective order for Perez in her ongoing battle with 1501. She also asked a court not to let 1501 file a deposition. Megan’s lawyers have criticized 1501 for issuing a subpoena to Perez after they wanted to question her during Megan’s trial.
Megan’s legal team released a statement regarding 1501’s attempt to subpoena Perez.
“1501 does not seek relevant, admissible evidence because Perez does not have any,” her attorney says. The legal team of Megan believes that a deposition of Perez would be “improper,” and according to Texas law, 1501 does not have a license for a deposition.
Megan Not Backing Down
1501 wanted to question Perez in the case, but Megan’s legal team says she wouldn’t provide “legal testimony.”
Megan’s issues with 1501 stem from contract disputes about her album release requirements. While she was signed to 1501, she accused label CEO Carl Crawford of being a “coward” and even sued them for $1 million in attempt to be freed from the label.
