Keke Wyatt’s 11th Child Diagnosed With Trisomy 13

On Wednesday, Keke Wyatt shared a heartfelt video of her singing about her unborn child being diagnosed with a rare condition called Trisomy 13. Also called Patau syndrome, Trisomy 13 is a chromosomal condition associated with severe intellectual disability and physical abnormalities in parts of the body, according to Medlineplus.

In the video, the “My First Love” singer included a prayer for all the individuals who were negative towards her and her unborn child.

She wrote: I’d like to send a special prayer ?? out for the rude, cruel people that took time out of their day to get on social media & make disparaging & morbid comments concerning my pregnancy. This past weekend at my show I was very transparent with my amazing fans (who I see as family) about the status of my pregnancy. I explained to them, the day after my maternity photo shoot my husband & I received the news that our baby tested positive for Trisomy 13 per the doctor.

Keke said she felt compelled to share the personal news to inspire fans who may be going through a similar situation.  She stated:

“It was a moment that wasn’t planned during my show but at the end of the day I felt in my spirit to share or encourage another women that might have to face this battle. For all of the disgusting people out there that are wishing ill on me and my baby. Say what y’all want about me, I’m use to it…No weapon formed against me will prosper anyway??. BUT a innocent unborn baby?? Be careful putting your mouth on people. I pray that God gives you grace when Life comes knocking on your front door & you won’t reap what u are sowing. For all of the POSITIVE stories, emails and support I’m getting THANK YOU! I will not let the negativity drain all of my positive energy…. I work hard and my husband & I take care of ALL our children with NO help but GODS OoooooKaY! We will continue to believe the report of the Lord! #GodsWillBeDone ???

What is Trisomy 13?

Individuals with Trisomy 13 may have heart defects, brain or spinal cord abnormalities, and very small or poorly developed eyes. Some infants with Trisomy 13 die within their first days or weeks of life. Only five percent to ten percent of children with this condition live past their first year.

Trisomy 13 occurs in about 1 in 16,000 newborns. Although women of any age can have a child with trisomy 13, the chance of having a child with this condition increases as a woman gets older.

Keke Sets The Record Straight

Keke Wyatt took to Instagram to address criticism received when she first announced her pregnancy for her 11th child. Although many of her fans, also known as “shugas” were highly excited for the singer, many comments were cruel. Keke has been ignoring the comments since the announcement was made back in February with many comments comparing the artist to Nick Cannon and his family.
