Comments Off on Kanye West Defends Kyrie Irving After Anti-Semitic Controversy. Is A “Black Awakening” On The Horizon?
Kanye West has made heavy headlines in the last couple of weeks after his recent comments that were labeled as anti-semitic. However, it appears another celebrity has similar views.
Chairman of the Brooklyn Nets, Joe Tsai, condemns Nets star Kyrie Irving for a recent post on his Instagram story, where he expresses great disappointment, saying it is wrong to promote “hate.”
Irving then posted the promotion of a 2018 documentary on Amazon Prime called From Hebrews To Negroes: Wake Up Black America, which tells a story about Jews playing a role in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
Furthermore, Kanye defended Kyrie on his Instagram page after Irving was also labeled as anti-semitic on social media. Kanye captioned the photo of Irving, saying, “There’s some real ones still here.”
Irving was also questioned by a reporter at a post game press conference about posting the documentary and whether or not he was anti-semitic.
So far, Irving has not lost deals like Kanye has since posting the documentary. Neither Kanye nor Irving have expressed meeting up with one another.
Russell Simmons Says Kanye West Canceled Himself To Be Freed From Contracts
Rap mogul Russell Simmons came to Kanye West’s defense after his recent comments were perceived as anti-semitic. In a YouTube video, Simmons said that Kanye could “make his own everything” and doesn’t need a company to succeed.
Simmons faced similar circumstances after sexual assault allegations in 2017.
