1. DaniLeigh’s First Big Hit
DaniLeigh has been making waves in the music industry, but her own musical career really took off with her “Easy” remix collabo with fellow rhythm and blues star Chris Brown. Released in 2019, it helped catapult her into the spotlight, as did her remix “Lil Bebe” featuring Lil Baby.

DaniLeigh has been involved in music for a great portion of her adult life, but she really got a glimpse of stardom when she was just 18 years old. Music legend Prince, yes – THE Prince, asked her to direct his “Breakfast Can Wait” music video in October of 2013. He mentored her until his death three years later and helped set her up for success.
3. Curly Fryz
She was part of a girl duo group called Curly Fryz from a young age. DaniLeigh, whose real name is Danielle Leigh Curiel, was making hits at a young age and eventually got signed to Def Jam in 2017. She released her first single “D.O.S.E” in 2015, but her first successful single was “Play”, coming out two years later. The song discusses empowerment for women and Latinos, and features Mexican rapper Kap G.
4. It’s Not All So Sweet For DaniLeigh
Things did take a slight turn south in late January 2021 for DaniLeigh. After previewing a new song called “Yellow Bone” on social media, she caught a whole lot of heat over accusations of colorism. She defended herself and apologized, also bringing up her (at the time) relationship with DaBaby, saying “I’m not a racist, I date a whole chocolate man”.
5. About That Relationship
DaniLeigh dated the platinum-certified DaBaby officially from August 2020 up until February 2021. However, they were spotted together months prior to the confirmation of their relationship. The pair clocked in a whole lot of time and relationship goals together, going as far as bringing up the big L-word.
