Smashing Pumpkins are looking for a new guitarist ahead of their massive tour with Green Day, the band revealed in a social media post on Friday, and are accepting applications from “anyone who might be interested.” If that’s you, hit them up at [email protected]. An internet posting for a new guitarist is almost to be expected for Smashing Pumpkins, who are infamous for the line-up’s near-constant state of flux. Jeff Schroeder, the guitarist who joined the band in 2007, departed in October 2023 “to explore a slightly different path.” The group’s most recent project is a rock opera called Atum, released in three parts across 2022 and 2023.
