Lil Nas X has returned with a new single titled “J Christ” and a video suitably filled with headline-grabbing religious imagery. The video, which is streaming below, begins with a group of celebrity lookalikes (including Ed Sheeran and Oprah) making their way to heaven. The camera then pans down to the fiery depths of hell where Nas, never shy of using satanic imagery, is working on a stew of human body parts. Later he is shown nailed to the cross, playing a game of basketball with the devil, and guiding an ark through an epic flood. There’s a lot to take in and you’ll be sure to hear from a local Christian about it soon.
“J Christ” was first teased earlier this week, with Nas dedicating the song to “the man who had the greatest comeback of all time.” He also shared the single artwork, featuring images of him on the cross, and posted TikToks in which he claimed to have been blackballed by his record label as a result of his alleged conversion to Christianity,
The song was written and produced by Lil Nas X alongside Omer Fedi and Gesaffelstein. It is his first single since the 2022 release of “Late to da Party” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again and “Star Walkin’ (League of Legends Worlds Anthem).” His debut album, Montero, arrived the previous year.
