Lil Nas X arrested in Los Angeles after altercation with police

Lil Nas X was arrested and hospitalized in the early hours of Thursday (August 21) in Los Angeles. According to police and multiple news outlets he was seen roaming the city streets undressed and looking disorientated.

Police told the media that they found the pop star and rapper walking on the Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City neighborhood shortly before 6am. In a video obtained by TMZ, Nas is shown in his underwear and a pair of cowboy boots claiming he was making his way to a party.

Nas, real name Montero Lamar Hill, was booked on suspicion of misdemeanour battery after he was confronted by officers and charged at them, police spokesperson Charles Miller said in a statement shared by the Associated Press. He was also taken to hospital after officers suspected a drug overdose.

He was briefly taken into custody at Valley jail in Van Nuys briefly before being booked on suspicion of misdemeanor for obstructing an officer.

Lil Nas X made his name with the viral country song “Old Town Road” in 2018. The song became a viral hit and stayed at the No.1 spot on the Hot 100 for 19 weeks. He is set to release his latest album, titled Dreamboy, later this year.
