Former NBA superstar Kobe Bryant dies in a helicopter crash in Calabasas California. According to reports five other people where on the aircraft and all died. One of the watch commander for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department explained, the crash triggered a small fire in the area surrounding the helicopter. Due to the fire, emergency services were unable to get to the helicopter until it was under control.
Bryant is known for traveling in private helicopters, for years he famously commuted from Newport Beach to the STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles on his Sikorsky S-76 chopper. Fortunately his wife , Vanessa Bryant was not on board however it has been reported on abc that his daughter was on board.
