Sabrina Carpenter has recruited Colman Domingo for her “Tears” video, a song that appears on her new album Man’s Best Friend. The video opens with Carpenter lost in woods after a road accident that left her man’s life in the balance. In need of assistance, she approaches a creepy-looking house where Colman Domingo’s character opens the door.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show-style action shows Oscar-nominee Domingo in drag, dancing with Carpenter through the house and into the streets. She then heads back to her car where she finds the boyfriend she left in the driver’s seat. “It’s a thing, someone has to die in every video,” Carpenter says in reference to the high fatality rate in her previous music videos, before using the heel of her shoe to finish the job.
Man’s Best Friend was produced by Jack Antonoff and also features the single “Manchild.” It is the follow-up to 2024’s Short n’ Sweet. Carpenter will be on tour in the fall, including a run of shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City. She will also appear at the 2025 MTV VMAs next month.
