Since Tory Lanez began his 10-year prison sentence in August 2023 for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, Megan has faced endless vitriol from the hip-hop community over the attack, with many of Lanez’s supporters claiming he did not shoot the the Texas rapper. Lanez himself has allegedly instigated some of the conduct; an L.A. judge approved a restraining order against Lanez filed by Megan in January alleging that Lanez was employing bloggers to spread misinformation about the case. Calls grew for Lanez’s renewed earlier this month after he was stabbed 14 times in prison, and his legal team promptly claimed there was new evidence in the case.
The increased attention to the case has once again led to more online harassment of Megan, and she’s denounced it — and Tory Lanez, by name — in a new statement posted on TikTok. “At what point are Tory and yall FANS gonna stop lying ?” she wrote, later adding, “Ain’t no new fucking evidence yall been saying the same shit for years.”
Alex Spiro, Megan’s attorney, echoed Megan in a statement issued last week: “Tory Lanez was tried and convicted by a jury of his peers and his case was properly adjudicated through the court system. This is not a political matter — this is a case of a violent assault that was resolved in the court of law.”
