Isaiah Rashad joins SiR to ruminate on “Karma”

SiR has announced a new album titled Heavy. The first full-length follow-up to 2019’s Chasing Summer — which gave us the now-platinum “Hair Down” (feat. Kendrick Lamar) and the ultimate down-bad anthem “John Redcorn” — is due out March 22 via Top Dog Entertainment.

With the news comes Heavy’s lead single, “Karma,” featuring fellow TDE signee Isaiah Rashad. Arriving a month after the D’Angelo-indebted “No Evil,” the new track throbs with regret. Over a pulsing, soulful instrumental from Sigurd, SiR’s wounded croons and Rashad’s rasped bars demonstrate an acute awareness (and palpable fear) of cosmic retribution.

“Karma” comes with a cinematic Loris Russier visual treatment that features visceral examples of karma doing its worst: a car crash, rehab, a funeral, and a knife that literally hangs above SiR’s head as he sings. Check it out below.
