BET Networks and iHeartMedia announced a new partnership to bring the popular morning radio show The Breakfast Club to television. Starting on April 17, the morning show will air on BET and VH1 daily for one hour at 9 am, with each episode also available on demand on BET+.

One of the hosts, Charlamagne Tha God, reacted to the news via a post on Instagram.

BET’s President Scott Mills said:

“We recognize the show’s influence and popularity, and we are confident that the partnership will be meaningful to our viewers and our partners.”

Fans could be wondering why they are making this move now. Especially since the hosts still have not found a permanent replacement host for Angela Yee’s seat, who announced her departure to start her own show Way Up With Angela Yee in 2022.

Charlamagne and DJ Envy are still doing auditions for the third slot, SOHH why now? During The Breakfast Club show this morning, DJ Envy explained that since they departed from Diddy’s channel Revolt TV in 2021, they have been trying to find a new home, and now BET and VH1 are indeed their new homes.

Diddy Wants To Buy BET

In BET-related news, there have been rumors that the network could be back on sale. A business mogul is putting his hat in the ring to be a potential buyer. Diddy has entered the race to bid for BET Networks.

If the business mogul were to add BET ownership to his arsenal, Diddy might be on track to build his “Black-owned global media powerhouse,” including his network Revolt TV.
