Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy wants to see a major change – now. The hip-hop mogul has come forward to announce he’s launching a Black political party made up of both Republican and Democratic elected officials.
Diddy Launches Black Political Party
Puff Daddy went to his Twitter page to break the massive news. In addition to explaining the need to get rid of President Donald Trump with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, Diddy revealed his plans for a new African American-comprised party.
“Things have got too serious. It would be irresponsible of me to have us hold our vote hostage. But it would also be irresponsible of me to let this moment go by and not make sure going forward we are doing what it takes to own our politics. … We need to get Biden in and hold him accountable. Trump has taken things too far. As Black people, we aren’t even a topic of real discussion. We can no longer stand for doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. That’s insanity! It’s time we unify. … So, I’m launching one of the boldest things I’ve ever launched. I’m launching a Black political party with some young Black elected officials and activists. It’s called @OurBlackParty , it doesn’t matter if you are Republican or Democrat…” -Diddy’s Twitter
Diddy also explained the importance of not only getting Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris into office, but also holding them accountable.
Hip-Hop Slams Mike Pence
Recently, the rap game wasted no time showing a strong distaste for Vice President Mike Pence. Everyone from Lil Yachty to 2 Chainz let loose on their issues with the vice president during the VP debate.
Kamala Harris Bodies Mike Pence
Throughout the vice presidential debate, Kamala Harris held it down for the Democratic party. She held her composure and found herself checking Pence on multiple topics including racial inequality and the coronavirus pandemic.
Kamala Harris Gets ELLE Magazine Cover
Recently, Harris raised eyebrows after landing on the cover of ELLE Magazine. Within her feature, Harris speaks on the importance of justice and equality in today’s world.
“As November 3rd looms, vice presidential nominee @kamalaharris is urging Americans to feel hopeful. “Optimism is the fuel driving every fight I’ve been in,” she tells Ashley C. Ford @smashfizzle in ELLE’s November issue. “The motivation comes from believing in what can be unburdened by what has been. John Lewis, the dearly departed, like many others shed blood on that bridge. Because he really believed in what could be. It will often feel like [we are only] against something, but the motivation that carries us through, with any longevity, is knowing what we’re fighting for.” For our latest issue, the woman who could be vice president discusses her historic journey and the fight for justice and freedom. “What does justice mean to @kamalaharris? “It’s about freedom, it’s about equality, it’s about dignity,” she says. “When you achieve equality, and freedom, and fairness, it’s not because I grant it to you. It’s because you fought for it because it is your right. This is not about benevolence or charity; it is about every human being’s God-given right. What do we collectively do to fight for that? That’s what justice represents to me—it’s about empowerment of the people.” Click the link in bio for the full cover story.”
