Pluggnb has never really left SoundCloud’s underground rap scene, and lately I’ve been on a WoochieWobbler kick, diving into the pillowy synths and polished melodies of her recent loosies. To me, the Atlanta rapper-singer’s lyrics land somewhere between Ice Spice and wokeups. Take last month’s “rackaid after rackaid,” where straightforward lyrics about her feelings and struggles are interspersed by laugh-out-loud boasts about her sex life (most memorably, “I don’t even let n****s bust on my face”). Honestly, she’s just on some fly shit.
Another rapper making major pluggnb waves these days is FADER favorite Baby Osama, so the freshly released “dog bich” remix comes through smooth and serene, even if our heroines are loosely complaining about envious women and unreliable men. I also can’t get over the fact WoochieWobbler seems to be adlibbing “Raggy,” like Scooby-Doo met T-Pain? The Atlanta rapper has been on a solid singles run over the past month, and it’s paying off with some of her catchiest songs to date.
