After teasing the arrival of a new project over the weekend Tyler, The Creator has dropped Don’t Tap The Glass. News of the album, which comprises 10 tracks and a lean 28-minute runtime, was first teased on Friday (July 18) when he performed at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Fans arriving at the venue were met by a figure of Tyler inside a clear perspex box that said “DON’T TAP THE GLASS.”
An online rollout hinted at a July 21 release date and, right on time, the follow-up to 2024’s Chromakopia dropped on Monday morning alongside a message from Tyler himself. In the post, the rapper and producer explained that Don’t Tap The Glass is designed to make people dance and let loose. “I asked some friends why they don’t dance in public and some said because of the fear of being filmed,” he wrote. “It made me wonder how much of our human spirit got killed because of the fear of being a meme, all for having a good time.”
How should I listen to Don’t Tap The Glass?
Beyond purchasing the customary merchandise, Don’t Tap the Glass comes with three guidelines to follow:
Body Movement. No Sitting Still.
Only Speak in Glory. Leave Your Baggage at Home.

What happened at the Don’t Tap The Glass listening party?
On Sunday night (July 20), Tyler hosted a listening party at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles. Phones and cameras were banned from the event, but in his statement accompanying the album Tyler explained that he played the album twice for fans.
“It was one of the greatest nites [sic] of my life,” he wrote. “300 people. No phones allowed. No cameras. Just speakers and a sweatbox. Everyone was dancing. Moving. Expressing. Sweating. It was truly beautiful.
Production credits and guest stars
As is tradition, Tyler is credited as the sole producer on all 10 tracks on Don’t Tap The Glass. Credits remain TBC but “Big Poe” appears to features Pharrell and a Busta Rhymes “Pass The Courvoisier” sample. Elsewhere, Daisy World is the voice heard on “Don’t You Worry World.” She previously appeared on “RISE!” from Tyler’s 2021 album Call Me If You Get Lost.
