Rosalía has officially hard-launched her fourth studio album. Titled LUX, the pop star confirmed on Monday, October 20, the project is set to arrive on November 7.
Lux will be her first full-length since Motomami was released in 2022. In recent weeks the Spanish artist has teased snippets of new music online and launched HOLA ROSALÍA, an official HQ page for news and updates. Before the official announce via a TikTok livestream — in which she seen ambling down Madrid’s Gran Vía while smoking cigarettes in a car — billboards teasing the album title and release date appeared in New York City’s Times Square.
In addition to releasing new music, Rosalía is confirmed to be joining the cast of Euphoria ahead of its eagerly-anticipated third season.
Read on for everything we know so far about Lux.
What is Rosalía’s Lux?
Lux is the title of her new album. In August, fans online noticed that Rosalía had registered the name “Lux” as a trademark for musical use. The pop star later confirmed the project during a live stream on October 20.

When will Lux be released?
The album will be released November 7.
What has Rosalía said about Lux?
In an August interview with Elle, Rosalía was asked what she could reveal about her new album. She said “that it doesn’t sound like my previous album at all” and that she was eager to take her time with the project.
“The rhythm [of the music industry] is so fast. And the sacrifice, the price to pay, is so high,” she said. “The driving force that leads you to continue making music, to continue creating, has to come from a place of purity. Motives like money, pleasure, power… I don’t feel that they are fertile. Nothing will come out of there that I’m really interested in. Those are subjects that don’t inspire me.”
What are the themes of Lux?
Information is scant but Rosalía did provide a hint on what Lux might mean. Prior to deleting her X account on October 14, she had reportedly tweeted “Lux = Love,” according to fans.
The themes of virginity and religion, which she’s explored on past records, will seemingly imbue this album too as the album cover features her dressed as a nun.
Who is involved on Lux?
There’s no track list of features available or even photos of the super star in the studio to extrapolate information from. But we do know who wasn’t involved on the album: El Guincho, the Spanish producer who helped bring El Mal Querer and Motomami to life.
“I honestly love working with people long-term. But sometimes people grow apart,” Rosalía said of El Guincho in the Elle interview. “He’s on a journey now, he’s done his [own] projects all these years. And yes, sometimes that can happen where people, you know, they grow to do whatever their journey is. Right now, I’m working by myself.”
