Rihanna has introduced the world to her third child, a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers. The news arrived on Wednesday evening, though Rocki was actually born on September 13.
It was four months ago, at the Met Gala, that Rihanna announced her pregnancy. Rocki Irish is her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky and their first daughter together. The first name is a clear tribute to the baby’s father while there is suggestion that Irish is a tribute to Rihanna’s own father, Ronald Fenty, who was of a Barbadian and Irish heritage. Ronald passed away in May following a brief illness.
In a recent interview with Elle, Rocky said he and Rihanna had been “praying” for a daughter this time around. “I feel like it’s going to be a girl,” he said. “This pregnancy is so different from the other two. You can tell from the experience. I hope it’s a baby girl, man. I need that.” Proof that manifesting works.
The couple already have two sons; RZA Athelston (born in 2022) and Riot Rose, who arrived in August 2023.
