With some of the biggest names in Reggaeton, and Latin trap in tow, this year’s Baja Beach Fest is set to take over the beachside town of Rosarito, Mexico for its sixth year this weekend; boasting superstar headliners Rauw Alejandro, Peso Pluma, Fuerza Regida, and Kali Uchis. Founded by Aaron Ampudia and Chris Den Uijl of La Familia Presenta in 2018, the sold out festival is the biggest event of the year in Rosarito and Baja California. Becky G, Yandel, Chencho Corleone, Xavi, Sech, LATIN MAFIA, Snow Tha Product, and many more are also set to take the main stage at Rosarito Beach over the festival’s three days.
Since the festival’s launch in 2018, previous headliners have included Bad Bunny, Karol G, Daddy Yankee and J Balvin. Over those last 6 years, Baja has welcomed thousands of fans from nearby California and the rest of the world to Mexico; growing the festival into a celebration of community, connection and culture. It’s an ethos festival founders Ampudia and Den Uijl embody through their production company La Familia Presenta, producing other major Latin music events across Mexico and the U.S. “Aaron and I were just two kids with a dream when we started Baja Beach Fest back in 2018,” Den Uijl said. “Fast forward to today, we’ve built La Familia Presenta, which in addition to Baja, produces festivals such as Sueños in Chicago, Dale Mixx in Monterrey, and Coca Cola Flow Fest in Mexico City .[We’ve also] co promoted tours from artists such as Wisin y Yandel, Myke Towers, Young Miko, Arcángel, Jhayco, Rauw Alejandro, and more.”
For Baja Beach Fest, it’s about more than music; offering fans an immersive experience that brings local culture to the forefront and extends its vibe far beyond the stage. From amazing Mexican food, white sand beaches, activations with top global brands, and parties, it’s a music and culture lover’s paradise set against the backdrop of an idyllic seaside town. “Not only is the beach a beautiful place, we couldn’t imagine a better location to make Baja Beach Fest our home in Mexico. Baja and Rosarito have always been places where me and my family have made memories,” said Ampudia, whose family-owned beach club Papas & Beer has been a staple in Rosarito since the 1980s. “We are proud of the economic impact that Baja Beach Fest has made on the local community of Rosarito, Tijuana, and greater Baja California. With the support of our local community, Baja Beach Fest has become a true celebration of Latin culture from every touchpoint.”
Tickets to this year’s festival sold out in just over 24 hours, marking the festival’s fastest sell out since 2019. “We’re very proud to be returning to Rosarito for a sixth year of Baja Beach Fest. This year’s festival sold out in record-time, under 48 hours, which is a testament to the incredible community the festival has been able to build over the years,” said Den Uijl. Similarly, their Chicago-based festival Sueños, with headliners that included Peso Pluma, Maluma and Young Miko, sold out in just 5 days. “Beyond the music, fans can expect to celebrate and experience all that Latin culture has to offer, from great food, great vibes, and great community.”
