Megan Thee Stallion has dropped “Lover Girl,” a loved up ode to her new man built around a prominent ’90s R&B sample. Scroll down to hear the new track now.

“Lover Girl” is Megan’s second single of 2025 (she shared “Whenever” back in April). It samples “Kissin’ You,” the 1996 R&B hit by Bad Boy Records girl group Total and was produced by Jacobdior.

Jacobdior has built a growing fanbase through his SoundCloud edits and mash-ups, generally fusing hip-hop and R&B tracks, such as SZA’s “Broken Clocks” and “No Hands” by Waka Flocka Flame, together. Earlier this year Beyoncé performed his “Diva x TGIF (TGID)” and “Bow Down In My House” mixes during a Cowboy Carter Tour stop in Los Angeles.

“Lover Girl” finds Megan in a blissful mood, rapping about “My man, my man, my man, my baby, my baby.” She is currently in a relationship with NBA player Klay Thompson. The couple hard launched their relationship in July and you can hear those first flourishes of romance in Megan’s new music.

Megan Thee Stallion shared her most recent studio album, Megan, in 2024. In January she was granted a restraining order against Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence after being found guilty of shooting her.
